YOKOSUKA, Japan (April 22, 2022) The Command Fleet Activities Yokosuka (CFAY) Earth Day Fair was held on 22 April 2022 and highlighted community involvement and global outreach. After the opening remarks there was a tree-planting ceremony commemorating thirty years of cooperation between the United States Navy and the Japan Navy Friendship Association (JANAFA). The CFAY Earth Day Fair involved members from PWD Environmental, NEX, SRF Environmental, the Library, Fleet and Family Readiness, Fire Department and Emergency Services, the USO, MWR and the American Red Cross. Individual presentations included wet chemistry exercises by SRF, eco-friendly products from the NEX, endangered species management, cultural resource learning, and recycling exercises from PWD, topics on learning from CFAY library staff, Fleet and Family Readiness skills training, First Aid and Fire Prevention topics; with military support from the USO.
