PHILIPPINE SEA (April 3, 2022) Quarter Master 2nd Class Elijah Exum, from Phoenix, and Quarter Master 2nd Class Jose Rivera, from Bayamon, Puerto Rico, hoist the American Flag as the Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Milius (DDG 69) transits past Iwo To. Formerly referred to as Iwo Jima, Japan returned to calling it by its pre-war name in 2007. Milius is assigned to Destroyer Squadron (DESRON) 15, Navy’s largest forward-deployed DESRON and the U.S. 7th Fleet’s principal fighting force, and is underway supporting a free and open Indo-Pacific.
