ATLANTIC OCEAN (March 15, 2022) The Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Paul Ignatius (DDG 117), left, USS Nitze (DDG 94) and the Royal Navy frigate HMS Portland (F79) transit the Atlantic Ocean in formation, March 15, 2022. Paul Ignatius and Nitze are forward-deployed to Rota, Spain, and are currently participating in Task Force Exercise in the U.S. 2nd Fleet area of operations. TFEX serves as the certification exercise for independent deploying ships and is designed to test mission readiness and performance in integrated operations.
