NORFOLK (March 14, 2022) U.S. Marine Corps Lt. Gen. Michael E. Langley, the commanding general of Fleet Marine Force, Atlantic (FMFLANT), Marine Forces Command (MARFORCOM), Marine Forces Northern Command (MARFOR NORTHCOM), and Sgt. Maj. Michael J. Pritchard, the command sergeant major of FMFLANT, MARFORCOM, MARFOR NORTHCOM, tour the San Antonio-class amphibious transport dock USS Arlington (LPD 24), moored at Naval Station Norfolk, Virginia, March 15, 2022. Arlington is named in commemoration of the Sept. 11, 2001 attacks and was officially commissioned Feb. 8, 2013, but its ceremonial commissioning occurred on April 6, 2013. The U.S. Marine Corps and Navy continue relevant support to deterrence with integrated sea power, operating concepts, capabilities, doctrine, personnel assignments, education and training.
