Rear Adm. Shoshana Chatfield
Rear Adm. Shoshana Chatfield became the first woman to lead the Naval War College (2019), where she served as its 57th President. Chatfield was also the first commanding officer of Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron (HSC) 25. She subsequently commanded a joint provincial reconstruction team in Farah Province, Afghanistan in 2008, and was type wing commander of HSC Wing, U.S. Pacific Fleet from 2011-2013. Chatfield also commanded Joint Region Marianas from 2017-2019. She was one of a few flag officers who attained their doctorate while on active duty.
