A 1994 U.S. Naval Academy graduate, Rep. Mikie Sherrill served nearly a decade in the Navy. She flew missions throughout Europe and the Middle East as a Sea King helicopter pilot. She holds several advanced degrees to include a law degree from Georgetown University. She was elected to Congress in 2018 and currently serves (2022) on the House Armed Services Committee; Subcommittee on Intelligence and Special Operations; House Science, Space, and Technology Committee; House Education and Labor Committee; and Subcommittee on Higher Education and Workforce Investment. She is also the Vice Chair for the Subcommittee on Tactical Air & Land Forces.
