ANNAPOLIS, Md. (July 30, 2021) Captain Ann Hasselbeck, USN (Ret.), gives the Oath of Office to Commander Diane E. Nichols, U.S. Navy Bandmaster, for the promotion to the rank of Commander at the U.S. Naval Academy. She is the first Navy female Bandmaster to be promoted to Commander. As the undergraduate college of our country's naval service, the Naval Academy prepares young men and women to become professional officers of competence, character, and compassion in the U.S. Navy and Marine Corps.
