Senior Chief Norma Schrader
Senior Chief Norma Schrader served in the WAVES, Women Accepted for Voluntary Emergency Service, during WWII and was recalled to active duty from the Naval Reserve during the Korean Conflict. She served as a Master-at-Arms and retired from the Naval Reserve as a Senior Chief Yeoman in 1965. She also retired from civil service at Naval Station Charleston, South Carolina after 20 years. She is a Charter Member of the Military Women’s Memorial and was honored with their Living Legend Proclamation on her 100th birthday. She is also a Life Member of Triangle Women Veterans Unit 144 of Military Women Across America.
