PHILIPPINE SEA (Jan. 31, 2022) Boatswain’s Mate 2nd Class Miles Silva, assigned to landing craft, utility (LCU) 1634, chains down a medium tactical vehicle replacement truck after a motorized raid in the Philippine Sea, Jan. 31, 2022. The motorized raid was conducted by the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU) to test the capabilities of rapidly going from sea to shore all the while simultaneously conducting a raid throughout the night. The 31st MEU is operating aboard ships of the America Amphibious Ready Group in the 7th fleet area of operations to enhance interoperability with allies and partners, and serve as a ready response force to defend peace and stability in the Indo-Pacific region.
