MEDITERRANEAN SEA (Feb. 6, 2022) Elements of the U.S. Navy Carrier Strike Group (CSG) 8, the Italian navy ITS Cavour Strike Group and the French navy Charles de Gaulle Carrier Strike Group (TF 473) transit the Mediterranean Sea in formation, Feb. 6, 2022. The Harry S. Truman Carrier Strike Group is on a scheduled deployment in the U.S. Sixth Fleet area of operations in support of naval operations to maintain maritime stability and security, and defend U.S., allied and partner interests in Europe and Africa.
