NAS POINT MUGU, Calif. (Feb. 1, 2022) Members of Naval Base Ventura County (NBVC) Force Protection (FP) conduct active shooter training during Exercise Citadel Shield-Solid Curtain 2022 (CS-SC22) Feb. 1, 2022. CS-SC22 is an annual, two-part enterprise-wide Fleet exercise which uses realistic scenarios to ensure U.S. Navy security forces maintain a high level of readiness to respond to dynamic threats. The exercise tests information dissemination, individual response plans, security force response, and our ability to coordinate with local emergency responders and the community. NBVC is comprised of three distinct facilities: Point Mugu, Port Hueneme, and San Nicolas Island. It is the largest employer in Ventura County and actively protects California’s largest coastal wetlands through its award-winning environmental programs. (U.S. Navy photo by Ensign Drew Verbis)
