EASTERN ATLANTIC OCEAN (Jan. 3, 2022) The Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Roosevelt (DDG 80) fires a Mark 45 5-inch gun during a live-fire exercise with the Italian navy frigate ITS Carlo Margottini (F 592), the Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Ross (DDG 71), the Turkish navy Gabya-class frigate TCG Göksu (F 497) and the Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Gravely (DDG 107), Jan. 3, 2021. Roosevelt, forward-deployed to Rota, Spain, is on its third patrol in the U.S. Sixth Fleet area of operations in support of regional allies and partners and U.S. national security interests in Europe and Africa.
