MEDITERRANEAN SEA (Jan. 2, 2022) From front, the U.S. Navy Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Gravely (DDG 107), the Turkish navy Gabya-class frigate TCG Goksu (F-497), USS Ross (DGG 71), the Italian navy Carlo Bergamini-class frigate Carlo Margottini (F-592), USS Roosevelt (DDG 80), USS Cole (DDG 67) and USS Jason Dunham (DDG 109) conduct maneuvering operations in the Mediterranean Sea, Jan. 2, 2022. These operations demonstrate NATO cohesion and capability through the combination of elements of U.S. 6th Fleet�s Forward Deployed Naval Forces-Europe, Standing NATO Maritime Group (SNMG) 2, and ships of the Harry S. Truman Carrier Strike Group (HSTCSG) as a collective surface action group. The HSTCSG is on a regularly scheduled deployment in the U.S. 6th Fleet area of operations in support of naval operations to maintain maritime security, and defend U.S. allied and partner interest in Europe and Africa.
