PHILIPPINE SEA (Jan. 6, 2022) Cmdr. Jermaine Brooms, right, commanding officer of the Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Dewey (DDG 105), Cmdr. Nick Hoffman, executive officer, and Lt.j.g. Colin Dablain, the conning officer, supervise maneuvering from the bridge wing during a replenishment-at-sea with the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force (JMSDF) replenishment ship JS Oumi (AOE 426). Dewey is assigned to Destroyer Squadron (DESRON) 15 and is underway supporting a free and open Indo-Pacific. Combined Task Force 71/Destroyer Squadron 15 is the Navy's largest forward-deployed destroyer Squadron and the U.S. 7th Fleet's principal surface force.
