ATLANTIC OCEAN (Dec. 11, 2021) The Henry J. Kaiser-class replenishment oiler USNS Leroy Grumman (T-AO-195) delivers supplies to the amphibious transport dock ship USS Arlington (LPD 24) during a replenishment at sea (RAS), Dec. 11, 2021. RAS is a procedure by which ships can receive critical supplies while underway and was conducted as part of Amphibious Ready Group/MEU Exercise (AMX) in preparation for an upcoming deployment. AMX is the second at-sea period in the MEU’s Predeployment Training Program; in which a join assessment of performance and recommendation is made for the MEU, signifying progress towards a deployment certification.
