Henry Roenke, deputy for readiness, center-left; and Command Master Chief Frederick Richter, center-right, the first 13 personnel assigned to Submarine Squadron (SUBRON) 2 pose for a photograph outside their command building on the day of the unit’s establishment Friday, Dec. 10, 2021. SUBRON 2 was established at Portsmouth Naval Shipyard (PNSY) in Kittery, Maine, to provide administrative, logistical, and operational support for fast-attack submarines homeported at PNSY during periods of maintenance and improvement.
