ATLANTIC OCEAN (Dec. 1, 2021) Boatswains Mates assigned to the amphibious assault ship USS Kearsarge (LHD 3) guide a landing craft, air cushion, into the well deck during an on loading of personnel and gear, Dec. 1, 2021. Kearsarge, the flagship for the 22nd Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU) and Amphibious Squadron (PHIBRON) Six, is underway for Amphibious Ready Group/MEU Exercise (AMX) in preparation for a future deployment. AMX is the second at-sea period in the MEU’s Predeployment Training Program; it aims to test the capabilities of the ARG/MEU team in a realistic paced threat environment.
