PORT OF DJIBOUTI, Djibouti (Nov. 30, 2021) Sailors newly assigned to the Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Michael Murphy (DDG 112) wait to go aboard the ship for the first time in the Port of Djibouti. Michael Murphy visited the port for a sustainment and logistics visit supported by Camp Lemonnier�s supply department. Michael Murphy is deployed to the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations in support of naval operations to ensure maritime stability and security in the Central Region, connecting the Mediterranean Sea and Pacific Ocean through the western Indian Ocean and the strategic choke points.
