LEGAZPI, Philippines (Nov. 18, 2021) Builder 3rd Class Nicholas McClellan, with Naval Mobile Construction Battalion (NMCB) 5, Pfc. Aries De Leon and Pfc. Ronal Joshua Taronas, with the Armed Forces of the Philippines, begin construction of a health clinic, converting an existing schoolhouse for the Bagumbayan Central School. The U.S. Navy Seabees with NMCB-5 are working with the Armed Forces of the Philippines, supporting Pacific Partnership 21 through engineering civic action projects—including health clinics and school renovations. NMCB-5 is deployed to the U.S. 7th Fleet area of operations, supporting a free and open Indo-Pacific, strengthening their alliances and partnerships, and providing general engineering and civil support to joint operational forces.
