SAN DIEGO - The Honorable Meredith A. Berger, performing the duties of the Under Secretary of the Navy, and David Hochschild, Chair, California Energy Commission, signed a Memorandum of Understanding, Dec. 1, 2021, renewing Department of the Navy cooperation with the CEC for another five years in a partnership that supports Navy and Marine Corps installation efforts to address energy resilience issues, climate initiatives, fossil fuel reduction, greenhouse gas reductions, water consumption, and alternative fuel vehicles. Berger is in San Diego visiting Navy and Marine Corps bases to observe Department of the Navy installation projects, energy resilience initiatives, and warfighter readiness.
