GULF OF OMAN (Nov. 8, 2021) A U.S. Marine Corps UH-1HY Venom attached to Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron (VMM) 165 (Reinforced), 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU), lands on the Royal Navy aircraft carrier HMS Queen Elizabeth (R 08) during interoperability training in the Gulf of Oman. The 11th MEU and Essex Amphibious Ready Group are deployed to the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations to ensure maritime stability and security in the Central Region, connection the Mediterranean Sea and Pacific Ocean through the western Indian Ocean and three strategic choke points.
