SOUTH CHINA SEA (Oct. 29, 2021) The Japanese Maritime Self-Defense Force (JMSDF) Asahi-class destroyer JS Shiranui (DD 120) and the Arleigh Burke-class destroyer USS Higgins (DDG 76) approach the Military Sealift Command Henry J. Kaiser-class replenishment oiler USNS Big Horn (T-AO 198) for a replenishment-at-sea in the South China Sea. Military Sealift Command Far East ensures approximately 50 ships, including Big Horn, operating in the Indo-Pacific Region, are manned, trained and equipped to deliver essential supplies, fuel, cargo and equipment to warfighters, both at sea and on shore.
