BAY OF BENGAL (Oct. 12, 2021) The Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force (JMSDF) Izumo-class helicopter destroyer JS Kaga (DDH 184), the Indian navy Rajput-class destroyer INS Ranvijay (D 55) and the Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Stockdale (DDG 106) transit the Bay of Bengal as part of MALABAR 2021, Oct. 12, 2021. MALABAR 2021 is a maritime exercise designed to improve integration, address common maritime security priorities and concerns, enhance interoperability and communication, and strengthen enduring relationships between the Royal Australian Navy, the Indian navy, the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force, and U.S. maritime forces.
