Emily Oneschuk, assigned to Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Mobile Unit 8, and supporting Operation Allies Welcome, discusses the mission of the operation with Master Chief Petty Officer of the Navy (MCPON) Russell Smith during a tour of Camp Sloviak at Naval Station Rota, Oct. 6, 2021. MCPON Smith visited Sailors who have supported Operation Allies Welcome to thank them for their support in facilitating the safe transfer of Afghan evacuees. Naval Station Rota is currently supporting the Department of State mission to facilitate the safe departure and relocation of U.S. citizens, Special Immigration Visa recipients, and evacuees from Afghanistan.
