NAVAL STATION ROTA, Spain (Oct. 6, 2021) Chief Hospital Corpsman Daniel Heaps, assigned to U.S. Naval Hospital Rota, Span, discusses the mission of Operation Allies Welcome during a tour of Camp Sloviak with Master Chief Petty Officer of the Navy (MCPON) Russell Smith, Oct. 6, 2021. MCPON Smith visited Sailors who have supported Operation Allies Welcome to thank them for their support in facilitating the safe transfer of Afghan evacuees. Naval Station Rota is currently supporting the Department of State mission to facilitate the safe departure and relocation of U.S. citizens, Special Immigration Visa recipients, and evacuees from Afghanistan.
