SAN DIEGO (Sept. 11, 2021) The crew of the San Antonio-class amphibious transport dock ship USS Somerset (LPD 25) conduct a remembrance ceremony of the ship’s namesake on the 20th anniversary of the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attacks. Somerset is named for Somerset County, Pennsylvania in honor of the sacrifice by the 40 passengers and crew of the hijacked United Airlines Flight 93.
