SINGAPORE (Sept. 11, 2021) Rear Adm. Philip Sobeck, commander of Logistics Group Western Pacific and Task Force 73, places a wreath on a command flagpole during a Sept. 11 ceremony in remembrance of the lives lost during terrorist attacks on that date 20 years ago. As part of the ceremony, military leaders placed three wreaths on flagpoles, and a chief master-at-arms struck a command bell 20 times, once for each year since airplanes crashed into the World Trade Center Twin Towers, the Pentagon and in a field in Somerset, Pennsylvania. "Keep those who were lost on that day and the days following in your thoughts. Make their sacrifice worth it by being that leader who never forgets, ensuring those we lead never forget," Sobeck said.
