ATLANTIC OCEAN (Aug. 4, 2021) U.S. Navy Sailors assigned to San Antonio-class amphibious transport dock ship USS Arlington (LPD 24) observe U.S. Marine UH-1Y Venom helicopter 87, attached to Marine Light Attack Helicopter Squadron (HMLA) 269, launching during flight operations in the Atlantic Ocean while participating in Large Scale Exercise (LSE) 2021. LSE 2021 demonstrates the Navy’s ability to employ precise, lethal, and overwhelming force globally across three naval component commands, five numbered fleets, and 17 time zones while merging live and synthetic training capabilities that help create a dynamic training environment. LSE 2021 will connect high-fidelity training and real-world operations to build knowledge and skills needed in today’s complex, multi-domain, and contested environment.
