GREAT LAKES, Ill. (July 27, 2021) Master Chief Petty Officer of the Navy (MCPON) Russell Smith speaks to recruits while touring the Uniform Issue building during a visit to Recruit Training Command (RTC). Each recruit goes through an initial uniform issue upon arrival to RTC, a 1st Issue for working uniforms, and again for 2nd Issue where they are fitted for their service and dress uniforms. By the end of boot camp recruits will have more than 80 uniform items in their sea bags to take with them to the fleet. More than 40,000 recruits train annually at the Navy's only boot camp.
