SAN DIEGO (July 14, 2021) U.S. Marines and Sailors from 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing (MAW) depart the SS Curtiss (T-AVB 4) in preparation of the Advanced Naval Basing evolution of Summer Fury 21 at Naval Base San Diego, July 14, 2021. SS Curtiss (T-AVB 4) will function as a logistic supply ship and a friendly Naval vessel that will provide additional AC2 nodes that will allow 3rd MAW evaluate the concepts of distributed Command and Control (C2) and Marine Corps Mission Essential Tasks (METs).
