Patterson, a native of Goldsboro, North Carolina, mans an M2HB .50 caliber machine gun in an MH-60S Sea Hawk assigned to the “Black Knights” of Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron (HSC) 4 while it flies near the Nimitz-Class aircraft carrier USS Carl Vinson (CVN 70), July 11, 2021.
