SAN DIEGO (June 11, 2021) Hospital Corpsman 1st Class Clayton Campbell, a maxillofacial technologist assigned to Naval Medical Center San Diego (NMCSD), cleans an acrylic dental prosthesis in the hospital's maxillofacial laboratory. The prosthesis is a part of a treatment plan for the Department of Defense's (DOD) and California's first ever immediate jaw reconstruction with 3D-printed teeth patient's care plan. NMCSD's mission is to prepare service members to deploy in support of operational forces, deliver high quality healthcare services and shape the future of military medicine through education, training and research. NMCSD employs more than 6,000 active duty military personnel, civilians and contractors in Southern California to provide patients with world-class care anytime, anywhere.
