PHILIPPINE SEA (June 13, 2021) From left to right, the Japan Self-Defense Force (JMSDF) tank landing ship JS Shimokita (LST 4002), the amphibious transport dock USS New Orleans (LPD 18), the dock landing ship USS Germantown (LSD 42) and the amphibious assault ship USS America (LHA 6) sail in formation with a JMSDF landing craft, air cushion during a bilateral exercise in the Philippine Sea, June 13, 2021. Bilateral exercises further demonstrate command control and interoperability between allies ultimately enhancing future operations.
