ATLANTIC OCEAN (June 13, 2021) Gunner�s Mate 2nd Class Michael Stubbs, from Dallas, assigned to the Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Lassen (DDG 82), demonstrates shooting positions with an M4 rifle during a small arms familiarization training on the flight deck, June 13, 2021. Lassen is underway in the Atlantic Ocean supporting aircraft carrier USS Gerald R. Ford (CVN 78) during Full Ship Shock Trials. The U.S. Navy conducts shock trials of new ship designs using live explosives to confirm that our warships can continue to meet demanding mission requirements under harsh conditions they might encounter in battle.
