PHILIPPINE SEA (June 13, 2021) The amphibious transport dock USS New Orleans (LPD 18) conduct a breakaway form the rest of the America Amphibious Ready Group (ARG) following bilateral operations with the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force. The America ARG, along with the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit, is operating in the U.S. 7th Fleet area of operations to enhance interoperability with allies and partners and serve as a ready response force to defend peace and stability in the Indo-Pacific region.
