OKINAWA, Japan (June 8, 2021) U.S. Marines and Sailors with Marine Heavy Helicopter Squadron (HMH) 462, 1st Marine Aircraft Wing, 3d Marine Logistics Group (MLG), and Underwater Construction Team (UCT) 2 disembark and offload a CH-53E Super Stallion with Marine Heavy Helicopter Squadron (HMH) 462, 1st Marine Aircraft Wing, on Ukibaru Island, Okinawa, Japan, June 8, 2021. Marines with 3d MLG and Sailors with Naval Mobile Construction Battalion (NMCB) 4 and UCT-2 were transported to Ukibaru Island to survey the land for future construction and training. Poseidon�s Watchtower is a multi-domain exercise designed to simulate the establishment of Expeditionary Advanced Base Operations through joint service integration. NMCB-4 is forward deployed throughout the Indo-Pacific region and United States, ready to support major combat operations, theater security, humanitarian assistance and disaster relief operations. UTC-2 provides a capability to support a Fleet Marine Force amphibious assault, subsequent combat service support ashore, and construction, inspection, repair and maintenance of ocean facilities in support of Navy and Marine Corps operations.
