DIEGO GARCIA, British Indian Ocean Territory (May 21, 2021) Construction Electrician Constructionman Chase Thorpe, right, and Builder Constructionman Grant Templeton, both assigned to Naval Mobile Construction Battalion (NMCB) 4, verify the proper height of the equipment pad, May 21, 2021. The equipment pad will support the air conditioning units used by the Hornet Antenna. The Hornet Antenna will collect space environmental data to forecast and characterize the effects on terrestrial and space-based systems, further improving the U.S. Naval Research Laboratory (NRL) capabilities of research and development of advanced technologies that support the warfighter. NMCB 4 is forward‐deployed throughout the Indo‐Pacific region, ready to support major combat operations, humanitarian assistance, and disaster relief and provide general engineering and civil support to the U.S. and joint forces.
