DIEGO GARCIA, British Indian Ocean Territory (May 18, 2021) Seabees assigned to Naval Mobile Construction Battalion (NMCB) 4 vibrate concrete during placement to ensure the removal of air pockets and proper packing of aggregate particles, strengthening the concrete for the Hornet Antenna project, May 18, 2021. Upon completion, this project will enable a Hornet Antenna to collect space environmental data to forecast and characterize the effects on terrestrial and space-based systems, further improving the U.S. Naval Research Laboratory (NRL) capabilities of research and development of advanced technologies that support the warfighter. NMCB 4 is forward‐deployed throughout the Indo‐Pacific region, ready to support major combat operations, humanitarian assistance, and disaster relief and provide general engineering and civil support to the U.S. and joint forces.
