DIEGO GARCIA, British Indian Ocean Territory (May 5, 2021) Construction Electrician Constructionman Chase Thorpe, assigned to Naval Mobile Construction Battalion (NMCB) 4, digs a trench to place protective concrete slabs over existing underground utility lines in support of the Hornet Antenna project, May 5, 2021. The Hornet Antenna will enable collection of space environmental data, enhancing U.S. Naval Research Laboratory (NRL) capabilities of research and development of advanced technologies to support the warfighter. NMCB-4 is forward‐deployed throughout the Indo‐Pacific region, ready to support major combat operations, humanitarian assistance, and disaster relief and provide general engineering and civil support to the U.S. and joint forces.
