PACIFIC OCEAN (May 23, 2021) A rigid-hull inflatable boat (RHIB) assigned to the Independent-variant littoral combat ship USS Omaha (LCS 12) and an MH-60S Seahawk, assigned to Helicopter Sea Combat (HSC) Squadron 23, conduct visit, board, search, and seizure (VBSS) exercises with a simulated target vessel, May 23, 2021. Omaha is underway as part of the Essex Amphibious Ready Group (ARG) conducting integrated training with the 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU) off the coast of southern California.
