ATLANTIC OCEAN (May 23, 2021) Standing NATO Maritime Group One (SNMG1) ships HDMS Absalon and FS Normandie conduct fleet manoeuvres and other training serials off the coast of Portugal on May 23, 2021 during Exercise Steadfast Defender 21 (STDE21). The ships are participating in the Combat Enhancement/Force Integration Training Phase of STDE21, a defensive exercise based on an Article 5 scenario which is designed to deter aggression and respond to crisis if necessary.
