SAN ANTONIO (May 20, 2021) Rear Adm. Tim Weber, Naval Medical Forces Pacific commander and director of the Navy's Medical Service Corps, watches an instructor and student perform a simulated procedure during a visit to the surgical technologist training program at the Medical Education and Training Campus. METC is a tri-service campus that offers 48 different programs of instruction to DoD students, including Hospital Corpsman Basic, also known as "A" school, and several specialized training programs such as surgical technologist, also known as "C" schools. Weber, who has oversight of Navy Medicine's eight medical research labs, was in the Lone Star State to attend the Naval Medical Research Unit San Antonio change of command and meet with MSC officers.
