YOKOSUKA, Japan (April 30, 2021) Capt. Rich Jarrett, Commander, Fleet Activities Yokosuka (CFAY), and Cmdr. Benjamin Waite, CFAY public works officer, plant a Yoshino cherry tree during the 2nd annual CFAY Arbor Day Tree Planting ceremony in front of Fuji Heights housing tower. Japanese trees were planted onboard CFAY and at the Ikego Housing Detachment, in celebration of Arbor Day, commonly held the last day of April in the U.S. For more than 75 years, CFAY has provided, maintained, and operated base facilities and services in support of the U.S. 7th Fleet's forward-deployed naval forces, tenant commands, and thousands of military and civilian personnel and their families.
