GREAT LAKES, Ill. (April 20, 2021) Chief Naval Aircrewman (Tactical Helicopter) Ryan Quinn, an inspector from fleet quality assurance (FQA), inspects a recruit during a phase 3 personnel inspection inside a compartment of the USS Constitution recruit barracks at Recruit Training Command. Recruits complete an inspection in each of the working, service and dress uniform, for a total of three official inspections during their time in boot camp. Each divisions recruit division commanders will conduct practice inspections a number of times before an official inspection is conducted by FQA. The inspection requires each recruit to don their uniform within a specified time frame and recruits are scored on a number of factors including proper wear, presentation, military bearing and professional knowledge. The inspection process teaches recruits that a standard of excellence for uniform wear must be demonstrated at all times on their journey to become a Sailor in the worlds finest Navy. More than 40,000 recruits train annually at the Navy's only boot camp. (U.S. Navy photo by Mass Communication Specialist 1st Class Spencer Fling)
