Steve Waddell, Vice Commander Seconder Fleet, left rear, receive a brief from Capt. Daryl Trent, Deputy Commander, Carrier Air Wing 8, in ready room 5 of the aircraft carrier USS Gerald R. Ford (CVN 78), April 18, 2021. During the visit, the officials met with Carrier Strike Group (CSG) 12 commander and other warfare commanders to receive an in-depth look at underway operations and significant milestones made during the ship's last independent steaming event (ISE) as part of post-delivery test and trials. During the ship's final ISE, it will complete combat systems ship qualification trials, integrated CSG operations and cyclic flight operations.
