Samuel Paparo, commander of U.S. Naval Forces Central Command (NAVCENT), U.S. 5th Fleet and Combined Maritime Forces, addresses the crew over the ship’s general announcing system aboard aircraft carrier USS Dwight D. Eisenhower (CVN 69) during a sustainment and logistics visit in Duqm, Oman, April 11. The Eisenhower Carrier Strike Group is deployed to the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations in support of naval operations to ensure maritime stability and security in the Central Region, connecting the Mediterranean and Pacific through the western Indian Ocean and three strategic choke points.
