QUEENS, NY (March 24, 2021) - Master Chief Petty Officer of the Navy Russell Smith poses for a photo with Hospital Corpsman assigned to Navy Medicine East while they are supporting one of two New York Community Vaccination Centers. One hundred and thirty-nine Sailors are assisting medical personnel and providing logistical support at the Federal Emergency Management Agency directed CVC at York College in Jamaica, Queens, NY. The Department of Defense has provided 278 active duty Navy and Air Force medical and support personnel to support two CVCs in New York as part of the whole-of-government response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
