OKINAWA, Japan (Feb. 24, 2021) Marines with 3rd Landing Support Battalion hook a CAT 279D Skid-steer from Naval Mobile Construction Battalion (NMCB) 4 to the CH-53E Super Stallion with Marine Heavy Helicopter Squadron 465 as part of the joint Helicopter Support Team external lift with NMCB 4, demonstrating the ship-to-shore concept that enables rapid transportation of Civil Engineering Support Equipment in support of Expeditionary Advanced Base Operations. NMCB 4 is forward deployed throughout the Indo-Pacific region and United States ready to support major combat operations, theater security, humanitarian assistance and disaster relief operations.
