MAYPORT, Fla. (Feb. 24, 2021) Rear Adm. Don Gabrielson, Commander, U.S. Naval Forces Southern Command/U.S. 4th Fleet, holds a leadership discussion with waterfront commanding officers and executive officers from aviation squadrons assigned to Naval Station Mayport, Feb. 24, 2021. The discussion included COVID-19 policy updates and the Navy's intolerance to extremism, part of the Secretary of the Defense directed department-wide stand down to address and understand the scope of extremism within the military. U.S. Naval Forces Southern Command/U.S. 4th Fleet supports USSOUTHCOM joint and combined military operations by employing maritime forces in cooperative maritime security operations in order to maintain access, enhance interoperability and build enduring partnerships that foster regional security and promote peace, stability and prosperity in the Caribbean, Central and South American regions.
