ARABIAN SEA (Feb. 1, 2021) Damage Controlman 2nd Class Brian Williams, assigned to the guided-missile cruiser USS Philippine Sea (CG 58), uses a Naval Fire Thermal Imaging System (NFTI) to check for simulated hot spots during a damage control drill in the Arabian Sea. Philippine Sea is deployed to the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations in support of naval operations to ensure maritime stability and security in the Central Region, connecting the Mediterranean Sea and Pacific Ocean through the western Indian Ocean and three critical chokepoints to the free flow of global commerce.
